Leviticus 4:25 - 26, Torah
[For they said,] "The priest will take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put [it] upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and will pour out his blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering. And he will burn all his fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offerings, and the priest will make an atonement for him as concerning his sin, and it will be forgiven him.
Isaiah 1:11 - 12, Torah
"To what purpose [is] the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?" The Lord says, "I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I do not delight in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of male goats. When you come to appear before Me to tread My courts, who has required this at your hand?
Jeremiah 7:22 - 24, Torah
For I did not speak to your fathers, nor command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices. But I commanded them this thing, saying, 'Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people, and walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, so that it may be well to you.' But they did not listen, nor incline their ear, but they walked in the counsels [and] in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward" -
Isaiah 1:16 - 17, Torah
[So] wash yourself, make yourself clean; put away the evil of your doings from before My eyes; cease to do evil; learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
Micah 6:6 - 8, Torah
[So] with what will I come before the Lord, [and] bow myself before the High God? Will I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, [or] with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Will I give my firstborn [for] my transgression, the fruit of my body [for] the sin of my soul? He has shown you, O man, what [is] good; and what does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
God Wants Neither Sacrifices Nor Offerings
The Lord Spoke these Words and Added No More
Sacrificing on Stone Altars is from Satan
They Sacrificed their Sons and Daughters to Devils
I do Not Want them to Feed Me
Mention the Name of God over them
Eat from them and Feed the Poor
The Penalty is Livestock as an Offering to God
Fasting is Decreed as it was Decreed Before
Jesus Ate Nothing for Forty Days
Isaiah 1:11 - 13, Torah
"To what purpose [is] the multitude of your sacrifices to Me?" The Lord says, "I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I do not delight in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of male goats. When you come to appear before Me to tread My courts, who has required this at your hand? Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination to Me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I am not able; [it is] iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
Hosea 6:6 - 7, Torah
For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. But they, like men, have transgressed the covenant, they have dealt treacherously against Me there -
Isaiah 43:23 - 24, Torah
[For] you have not [actually] brought Me the small cattle of your burnt offerings; neither have you honored Me with your sacrifices. I have not caused you to serve with an offering, nor wearied you with incense. You have bought Me no sweet cane with money, neither have you filled Me with the fat of your sacrifices, but you have made Me serve with your sins, you have wearied Me with your iniquities."
Isaiah 66:3 - 4, Torah
[But] he who sacrifices a lamb, [it is as if] he cut off a dog's neck; he who kills an ox, [it is as if] he slew a man; he who offers an oblation, [it is as if he offered] swine's blood; he who burns incense, [it is as if] he blessed an idol. They have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations. I will also choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none answered; when I spoke, they did not hear, but they did evil before My eyes, and chose [that] in which I did not delight."
Deuteronomy 5:1 - 2, Torah
[So] Moses called all Israel, and said to them, "Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgements which I speak in your ears this day, so that you may learn them, and keep and do them. The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb -
Deuteronomy 5:6 - 7, Torah
[Saying,] 'I [am] the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. You will have no other gods before Me.
Deuteronomy 5:17 - 20, Torah
You will not kill. Neither will you commit adultery. Neither will you steal. Neither will you bear false witness against your neighbor.
[Epistle of Barnabas 2:7 - 8], Gospel
[So] again He says to them, "Did I command your fathers when they went forth from the land of Egypt to bring Me whole burnt offerings and sacrifices? No, this was My command to them, 'Let none of you bear a grudge of evil against his neighbor in his heart, and do not love a false oath."
Deuteronomy 5:32 - 33, Torah
You will therefore observe to do as the Lord your God has commanded you, you will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. You will walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live, and [so that it may be] well with you, and [so that] you may prolong [your] days in the land which you will possess.
22:52 - 54, Qur'an
We did not send any messenger or prophet before you except that when Satan desired, he threw in his [own] desire [into His verses]. But God abrogates that [falsehood] which Satan throws in [His verses]; then God makes His verses precise. And God is Knowing and Wise. [That is] so He may make what [falsehood] Satan throws in a trial for those who have disease in their hearts and those hard of heart. And indeed, the wrongdoers are in extreme dissension. And so those who were given knowledge may know that it is the truth from your Lord and [therefore] believe in it, and their hearts become humble to it. And indeed, God is the Guide of those who have believed to a straight path -
Exodus 29:20 - 21, Torah
[But they say,] "You will kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put [it] upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about. And you will take of the blood that [is] upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle [it] upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him, and he will be made holy, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him."
43:62, Qur'an
[So] never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is a clear enemy to you.
7:16 - 17, Qur'an
[For Satan] said, "Because You have made me err, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path. Then I will come to them from before them and from behind them and on their right and on their left, and You will not find most of them grateful [to You]."
Deuteronomy 28:14 - 15, Torah
[And so God said,] "You will not go aside from any of the words which I command you this day, [to] the right hand, or [to] the left, to go after other gods to serve them. But it will come to pass, if you will not hear the voice of the Lord your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses will come upon you, and overtake you."
5:15 - 16, Qur'an
[So] O People of the Scripture, Our messenger has come to you making clear much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture, and he pardons much. A light and a clear Book have come to you from God - by which God guides those who pursue His pleasure to the ways of peace and brings them out from darknesses into the light, by His permission, and guides them to a straight path.
Psalms 106:35 - 37, Torah
[For they] were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works. And they served their idols, which were a snare to them. They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to devils.
2 Kings 17:16 - 17, Torah
[For] they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, and made themselves molten images, [even] two calves, and made a grove, and prostrated to all the host of heaven, and served Baal. And they caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold their souls to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.
Psalms 106:38 - 39, Torah
[For they] shed innocent blood, [even] the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood. Thus they were defiled with their own works, and went whoring with their own inventions.
Deuteronomy 12:31 - 32, Torah
[Thus] you will not do so to the Lord your God, for every abomination to the Lord, which He hates, they have done to their gods; for they have even burnt their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods. [And so] whatever thing I command you, observe to do it, you will not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Psalms 50:13, Torah
Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
51:57 - 58, Qur'an
[No,] I do not want any provision from them, nor do I want them to feed Me. Indeed, it is God who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength -
80:24 - 32, Qur'an
[For] let mankind look at his food - how We poured down water in torrents, then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], and caused grain to grow within it and [also] grapes and herbage and olive and palm trees and gardens of dense shrubbery and fruit and grass - [as] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock.
22:63 - 64, Qur'an
[So] do you not see that God has sent down rain from the heaven and the earth becomes green? Indeed, God is Subtle and Aware. What is in the heavens and what is on the earth [belong] to Him. And indeed, God is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.
Acts 17:24 - 25, Gospel
[So I declare Him to you,] God, who made the world and all things therein, seeing that He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; neither is He attended by men's hands, as though He needed anything, seeing He gives life to all, and breath, and all things.
Deuteronomy 16:6 - 7, Torah
[For remember when God likewise said,] "At the place which the Lord your God will choose to place His name in, there you will sacrifice the passover at evening, at the going down of the sun, at the season that you came forth out of Egypt. And you will roast and eat [it] in the place which the Lord your God will choose,"
Psalms 50:10 - 11, Torah
For every beast of the forest [is] Mine, [and] the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field [are] Mine.
36:71 - 73, Qur'an
[Then] do they not see that We have created cattle for them from what Our hands have made, and [then] they are their owners? And We have tamed them for them, so they ride some of them, and they eat some of them. And there are [other] benefits and drinks for them therein, so will they not be grateful?
Psalms 107:21 - 22, Torah
Oh that [men] would praise the Lord [for] His goodness, and [for] His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.
Psalms 54:6, Torah
I will freely sacrifice to You, I will praise Your name, O Lord; for [it is] good.
Luke 14:13 - 14, Gospel
When you make a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed; for they cannot recompense you, for you will be recompensed at the Resurrection of the just.
30:37 - 38, Qur'an
Do they not see that God extends provision for whomever He wills and restricts [it]? Indeed, there are signs in that for a people who believe. So give the relative his right, as well as the needy and the traveler. That is best for those who desire the Countenance of God, and it is those who will be the successful -
76:8 - 9, Qur'an
[Those who] give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, [saying], "We feed you only for the Countenance of God. We do not wish for reward or gratitude from you."
Deuteronomy 16:10 - 12, Torah
And you, [O Children of Israel,] will keep the feast of weeks to the Lord your God with a tribute of a freewill offering of your hand, which you will give [to the Lord your God], accordingly as the Lord your God has blessed you. And you will rejoice before the Lord your God, you and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite who [is] within your gates, and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, who [are] among you, in the place which the Lord your God has chosen to place His name there. And you will remember that you were a bondman in Egypt, and you will observe and do these statutes."
22:27 - 28, Qur'an
[So] proclaim the Pilgrimage [Hajj] to the people; they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every distant pass - so that they may witness benefits for themselves and remember [or mention] the name of God over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals on known days. So eat from them and feed the miserable and poor.
Leviticus 6:1 - 6, Torah
[Remember when] the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, "If a soul sins, and commits a trespass against the Lord, and lies to his neighbor in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or has deceived his neighbor; or has found that which was lost, and lies concerning it, and swears falsely; in any of all these that a man does, sinning therein. Then it will be, because he has sinned, and is guilty, that he will restore that which he took away violently, or the thing which he has deceitfully gotten, or that which was delivered to him to keep, or the lost thing which he found, or all that about which he has sworn falsely; he will even restore it in the principal, and will add the fifth part more thereto, [and] give it to him to whom it appertains, in the day of his trespass offering. And he will bring his trespass offering to the Lord, a ram without blemish out of the flock, with your estimation, for a trespass offering, to the priest.
Leviticus 22:29 - 30, Torah
And when you will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, offer [it] at your own will. It will be eaten up on the same day; you will leave none of it until the morrow, I [am] the Lord.
Leviticus 22:19 - 20, Torah
[But you will offer] a male without blemish at your own will, of the cattle, of the sheep, or of the goats. [Thus] whatever has a blemish, you will not offer [that], for it will not be acceptable for you -
5:94 - 95, Qur'an
[So] O you who have believed, God will surely [likewise] test you through something of the game that your hands and spears [can] reach, so that God may make those known who fear Him unseen. And whoever transgresses after that - there is a painful punishment for him. [So] O you who have believed, do not kill game while you are prohibited. And whoever of you kills it intentionally - the penalty is an equivalent to what he killed of livestock, as judged by two just persons among you as an offering [to God] delivered to the Ka'bah, or an expiation of the feeding of needy people or a ransom of that in fasting, so that he may taste the consequence of his affair. God has pardoned what is past; but whoever returns [to violation], then God will take retribution from him. And God is Almighty and Owner of Retribution.
2:183 - 184, Qur'an
[So] O you who have believed, fasting is decreed upon you as it was decreed upon those before you so that you may fear [God] - [fasting is for] a number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then [an equal] number of other days. And upon those who are able to afford it - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [for each day]. And whoever volunteers [excess] good - it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.
Matthew 6:16 - 18, Gospel
"Moreover, when you fast, do not be as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance, for they disfigure their faces, so that they may appear to fast to men. Verily I say to you, 'They have their reward.' But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face; so that you do not appear to fast to men, but to your [God] who is in the hidden, and your [God], who sees in the hidden, will reward you openly" -
1 Kings 19:8 - 9, Torah
And [remember when Elijah] arose, and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that meat [fasting] for forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the Mount of God. And he came there to a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the Lord [came] to him, and He said to him, "What do you do here, Elijah?"
Jonah 3:3 - 5, Torah
[And remember when] Jonah arose, and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city of three days' journey. And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh will be overthrown." So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast [for forty days], and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.
Matthew 4:1 - 2, Gospel
[And remember when] Jesus was led up by the [Holy] Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when he had fasted for forty days and forty nights, afterward, he was hungry.
Deuteronomy 8:2 - 3, Torah
[Rather,] you will remember all the ways which the Lord your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you, [and] to test you, to know what [was] in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. And He humbled you, and let you hunger, and fed you with manna, which you did not know, neither did your fathers know; so that He might make you know that man does not live by bread only, but man lives by every [word] that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord."
