Then Have they Not Seen How Many Generations God Destroyed After Noah and Pharaoh as they Walk Among their Ruined Dwellings?

Then God Produced a Generation of Others After them and Destroyed them in Succession, until He Made you Successors in the Land

[So] how many generations have We destroyed after Noah?

[For] the people of Noah - when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them a sign for mankind.  And We have prepared a painful punishment for the wrongdoers.

And [We destroyed] 'Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them.

[For] how many gardens and springs did [the people of Pharaoh] leave behind? And [also] crops and noble sites [of pyramids and temples] and comfort wherein they were amused? Thus, and We caused another people to inherit it.

23:42 - 44, Qur'an
Then We produced other generations after them.  No nation will precede its term, nor will they delay it.  Then We sent Our messengers in succession.  Every time a messenger came to his nation, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations.  So away with a people who do not believe.

8:54, Qur'an
[And the people of Muhammad were] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied the signs of their Lord, so We destroyed them for their sins, and We drowned the people of Pharaoh. And all [of them] were wrongdoers.
